A weapon

POV Bodine Ranaz

It was a free period for me, why not check if there were some arrows at the armoury? I only had a couple left in my quiver. I started to head over to the place. I was happily surprised to find another camper there, with his back turned to me. I had never seen his back before. He was probably older then I was as he was longer and seemed older. 'Ehm, hello?' I said, he turned around. He looked friendly. 'Hey, I am Bodine, daughter of Apollo.' I said as I walked towards him. 'Do you need a hand with your weapon?' I was kind of glad that I had had my bow and that I did not have to pick a weapon from this gigantic amount of them. I saw swords in lots of sizes, bows and what I found weird, a couple of guns. 'I might be able to help a little bit, I am not a child of Ares or Athena. They'd know it within a really short time and all. But yeah...'

'If I were you I would look at your own skills, godly parent or even personality.' I told him. 'Who is your godly parent?' the boy told me it was Hecate, Goddess of magic. 'Oh, well that doesn't really help does it?' 'Personally I prefer my bow, being a child of Apollo and all, though on close combat, it kindahhhh...sucks...' If only dad had thought about something for close up combat for archers. 'It also requires a good aim. Now for swords, they only work close up, though can be used a bit further than a dagger. Swords are slower than daggers though can be used with more power. Daggers are fast and small, though harder to master. And I think guns aren't all that handy for Demi-Gods...' I stopped because I was probably just making it more difficult for this boy, speaking of that, I don't recall his name. 'Eh, what is your name?'

'Azima, you don't hear that name often around here, but I like it.' 
'A staff to use magic, yeah that fits a child of Hecate, though I believe you are also able to practice magic without one.' I said as I went digging into piles of weaponry. 'Staff...staff.staff, where are you at?...' I mumbled as I searched, I don't know why but I do that more often. Finally, I saw a weird box thing, hidden behind a rack of arrows. 'Hey, wait a moment.' I said as I pushed the rack away to review a box with ancient Greek lettering on it. 'This is something to practice magic with for sure.' I said as I handed over the box to Azima.

'Would you mind not practicing on me if that's what you are asking?' I laughed softly, this boy was not getting it. 'Kidding...' I thought about where he could practice, I did know I couldn't really help him. 'You'd have to ask another child of Hecate Azima, I don't know anything of magic, only that I'd not use it because I'd sure loose control, you know I trust my bow, you trust your magic. I have respect for you being able to use magic, it seems pretty cool to do so. And you actually have quite a lot of siblings to teach you all about magic if you wanted to.' 'I...wait a moment!' I had once done something that I could only describe as magic, I had formed a ball of light, sun light, if I could explain him that feeling it might help. 'Well one day in the forest I was helping Ren, daughter of Zeus with her power and this shadow man thing threatened us...' You have promised to not tell anyone about this, darn it Bodine. 'Yes, I won't go into detail there, but I formed a ball of sunlight and he ran for it. Maybe it works the same as magic, what I did was ask my dad Apollo for help and imagined the sun growing in my hand.' I closed my eyes and prayed to Apollo that it would work out, not making a complete fool of myself. I felt heat in my left hand, and upon opening my eyes I saw a ball of light the size of a Ping-Pong ball laying there, emitting heat and light. 'Thanks dad' I whispered. 'OH my Gods it worked, see just ask for help and focus.' I said as I looked at the ball of light there, I had not imagined it back then. I closed my hand and let the sunlight fade from my hand. 'Hope it'll help you Azima.' I picked up my quiver and walked to the arrows, I picked some regular celestial bronze tipped arrows with strong bright red feathers on the end. I put them in my quiver and swung it over my shoulder. 'I suppose you know where your cabin is already?' I said while hanging my bow next to the quiver on my back, ready to leave if Azima was alright with it. 'Or would you need any help with stuff?'
